can i ask where did you get them from? - coz my DS1 love subway sandwiches with chillis in and my home made ones are never the same without the chilli!Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0

Buying chillies ? Grow 'em they are lovely and pretty..and free.
Pickled are nice finely choped in salsa or sprinkled on soups or salads as a light garnish...also wicked in a cheese toasty.
Better storing them in oil really....you get flavoured oil then

thanks for the suggestions, i was really looking for a way to use up a quantity of them at once as just on sandwiches, etc isnt really going to get rid of them very quickly.. hmm... do you think if i transfered them to oil they would work as chilli oil or would the vinegar/brine affect it?0

I don't know about oil after vinegar, well not pickled at least....but with a little judicial whizzing and some sugary additions you could maybe make some chilli sauce ? Most sauces have at least a little vinegar don't they ? Like Reggae Reggae type of thing ?
I'd be like Frankenstien experimenting if it were me :rotfl:

If you are planning to chuck them anyway, experiment, what about the sweet chili dipping sauce, like you can buy in a bottle in the supermarket. Google to see if there are any recipes.

I've just managed to pick up some nice cheap jars of pickled chillies - one jalapeno and one containing whole fine chillies. I would like to add them to a chilli-con-carne but need to know a)do pickled chillies work OK in sauces or are they too vinegary and b)if they are suitable for cooking with how much to use?
Thanks folks :beer:Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

I add some pickled jalepenos to chilli con carne, I usually add four or five drained, finely chopped ones to a panful. They're also nice chopped, added to pizzas.0

I keep a jar of the whole ones in my fridge! If you have the same ones as i do there are a mix of them different sizes and colours. The smaller they are the hotter they are! I like them whole but maybe Im weird!
You can add them to anything if you dont like them too hot take out the seeds and just treat them exactly as you would a normal chilli.
