I want to use my mobile when I go to Singapore - help

I'm going to Singapore and I want to take my mobile with me as I am a disabled traveller and want to have it with me for security - has anyone got any advice, tips, help... please

What network are you on? And what phone do you have?
Most networks offer roaming and should cover Singapore. Watch out for costs, it's about 35p to send a text although it's free to receive them while roaming and it costs money to RECEIVE and make calls.

If you're phone is unlocked or you can get it unlocked, you can probably get a cheap PAYG sim while you're out there to use. Mobiles in Singapore charge for you to receive incoming calls.

Hi,

I was in Singapore in December, and you can buy a payg sim card from pretty much any shop. It cost about £10 and had the same amount of credit, which seemed to buy roughly the same amount of texts/talk time as it would in the UK.
There were several different companies to choose from, but all seemed pretty much the same really. I just bought the cheapest.

Note that you will need to have an 'unlocked' phone to put in a new sim card, though.
