Does anyone know somewhere cheapish you can park at Luton Airport?
The cheapest I have found for 9 days is £38 ... but I read somewhere about parking at the trainstation for £20. Has anyone done this recently? and if so, which Luton trainstation and is it 24 hours?

I parked there in March this year. Its Luton Airport Parkway Station. It was £4 per day or £20 per week. You can pay for a week and then add on the extra couple of days. The car park is right next to the station where there is a free shuttle bus every 10 minutes to the airport. I think its 24 hours but can't be absolutely sure. The station is open 24 hours so I should imagine the car park is as well.
Hope this helps.0 -
Have they changed the system?? (or am I just having memory failure).
When I was last there a few years ago, I remember it being a pay per hour system. As in you get the ticket when you go in, and when you finish you pay at a machine based on the amount of time.
Or am I thinking or a different Luton parking area
Sorry just wanting to make sure when I turn up to park I am not charged £60 like most websites claim will happen unless i book ahead.0 -
The car park I used is the multi storey right next to Luton Airport Parkway station. You can definitely pay per day. You can get a ticket when you go in and then go to the man in the office at the entrance and pay in advance. Or park (which is what I did) then pay on your return. Again to the man in the office. There is a big board up giving daily and weekly rates, but can't remember seeing anything about hourly rates. I got there very early Thursday morning and arrived back late Sunday evening and he charged me for three days!
I don't know Luton at all so don't know if there is another station somewhere that you might be thinking of.

I live not far from luton and as far as I'm aware there isn't any parking at Luton Airport Parkway unless things have change reasently. There is an off site carpark at Slip end village and some long stays by the airport but I don't know what they charge.
Try http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/ we got a good deal for gatwick off them.Nothing to see here, move along.0 -
Sorry, there's a big multi storey carpark at Luton Parkway (the new station near Toys R Us) - you can't miss it as it's on your right as you approach the station. I went and had a look last Friday as I need to use it soon. £20 a week - see the man in the office as you drive in to pay in advance.Coveredinbees!!!! wrote:I live not far from luton and as far as I'm aware there isn't any parking at Luton Airport Parkway unless things have change reasently. If you do a search, there was a discussion about how good the car park is a few weeks ago.0
