Officially no. I may have happened to put some of my kit in the back of a service vehicle and it may have just so happened to arrive at the camp I was posted to You get an allowance to hire a van if you are single. If you are married you pay for your first move

As monkeys child says no, however, if you are single and have no transport of your own, say you cant drive, then the Army will provide transport to your new unit, and of course they will have to take your luggage as well.
All depends on your individual circumstances. You are of course allowed duty journeys to get to your new unit and if you happen to load up a vehicle with a few bits and pieces.....makes sense and lowers your carbon footprint ;-)0 -
Yes you can as long as you get authorisation on doing it as a repayment journey where you will fill in the journey movements in red ink and you will be billed accordingly by your accounts section.
Speak to your MT people about it and they will advise. JSP 800 can't remember off top of my head whether it is vol 2 or vol 5 you need to refer to.0 -
well aparantly i have queried this morning and it was at the discrection of the Sergeant as they cpl concerned had had a lot of furniure to move !
yer that was what i was told. which i find very amusing.
