My NAtwest has a card reader thingy like in the post office, so when I forget my paying in book I can just put my card in hand the cash over to the girl and then put my pin in the machine.Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0

No PIN needed for a deposit at a Nationwide cash machine - in fact it asks you if you want to do a deposit before it even asks for a PIN!
That's for the machines inside the branch. The ones in the wall outside are not as advanced and you need to put your PIN in before you can select the option for deposit. You then put your money/cheques in a envelope and slide it into the machine.0 -
All you need to do at Barclays is....
Pick up a paying in slip and deposit envelope
Fill in paying in slip with name, branch, account number and amount of money going in
Pop it in the envelope
Pop it in the deposit chute
That's it.0 -

Personally, I would never do this with cash, no receipt! A cheque, yes.0 -
It's NATWEST that need a PIN if paying in with a debit card, not Nationwide. But they do provide paying in books as well.
As with some of the other banks, you can even pay in if you just have the account number and sortcode.
A card can still be swiped so you can pay in WITHOUT the pin, but you might get asked security questions if you want a receipt, as it shows the account number and sortcode.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion
