This week my abbey suite was finally delivered - large 2 seater, love seat and chair. The arm of the chair however is 2.5 inches lower and 1.5 inches narrower than that on the 2 seater which it is next to in my living room - so you can imagine it looks a bit odd! I rang customer service - they basically told me I would have to live with it.
After a couple of days of living with it I went to the store where I had ordered it from and told them my concerns - they had not had a chair on display when i placed my order and the woman in there said she did not think they had ever had one. They therefore rang cust serv for me asking to speak to a mgr but were also getting nowhere. They gave the phone to me and I went on to explain that the height and width of the arms of the chair are not stated in their brochure or online - only the width, height depth etc of each actual piece of furniture.
I explained I was not happy they said at cust serv I should have rung and checked the height and width of the arms before I ordered. I have ordered a suite - I expected it to be the same - if I ordered curtains would I expect one to be 2.5 inches longer that the other??
After much going round in circles with the very nice lady on the phone who seemed to be reading her script from somewhere I said I could not live with it and wanted to change the chair for a love seat - which will cost me even more money! They then told me they should not really take the chair back as it is not faulty but as a gesture of good will they would take it back but it would cost me £100 for them to do that? I offered to take the chair to my local store myself (at least they would have one on display then) but was told that is not allowed.
The staff instore just wanted to get me out of there I think and told me they would get in contact with a more senior manager at cust serv - who is not in cos of the bank hol until 2moro - has anyone out there got any advise as to what I should do. I feel they have misold me this chair as it does not state anywhere that the arms would be different?
thanks x :mad::mad::mad:
