Which circuit did it trip - RCD1?
Have you tried the yellow test button and / or switching off / on the main read switches?
Good luck - however if you don't get it sorted we will assume your laptop battery will soon run out and enjoy ourselves in GIOL and 'debate the economy' un-modulated!I think....0 -
It tripped the main switch and then we flicked everything up and down
Now think it's the main fuse to the house power supply :O :O0 -
Do you have any candles?
Is there a big fat fuse between the meter and the consumer unit?
Would you like to come round for dinner and a shower?I think....0 -
I think u need to flick the main red switch
MOVE ALONG........ nothing to see here..!

try switching all off, then just the main switch on and slowly switch the others on such as lights then go check see if they come on. I doubt its the main fuse to the house as theyre usually something huge like 100 amp but i could be wrong.
Good luck0 -
i think that green means the power is off switch the main switch back to red.
green- safe no power
red- danger power
unplug the item that tripped the power first0 -
heretohelp is correct - RED means live or switched on, GREEN means safe, or switched off so most of the breakers in the box (including the main switch) are OFF!!!
Both RCDs and all the MCBs in the box would all have to have failed to even begin to trouble the main supply fuse, and at 100A you would have melted meter cables long before that happened. I've only ever seen 1 failed supply fuse and that was an old 60A one in a rented house turned into a cannabis factory!0 -
Thanks guys, figured that out from another place. Guess you learn something new every day. VERY pleased to have electricity back again0
