HSBC basic account + Paypal

Hi. I just spent a gruelling 4 months waiting for HSBC to finally open my basic bank account (They said I couldn't apply for anything else as I had low income)

It's finally sorted, but I then came to realise when the card arrived about the fact that you just have a 'self service card'.

Is it possible to use this card for paypal? I've tried registering, but i need to state the type of card it is, and I cannot find any information on it.

Thanks for any help.

No you won't be able to. Its not a debit card as I recall, as a cash card it means you can only use it to withdraw money from HSBC Cash Machines or Post Office.

However with your account you can create a PayPal Direct Debit. Add your account (not your card), to PayPal and this should work.
