Don't know if anyone saw this programme but it was very interesting and showed what sort of places are available for retirement and onwards.
Link to Open University and a booklet about the cost of growing old that might be useful.

Just to say, the retirement village referred to is run by Extracare charitable trust and my mother was in one of their care homes -brilliantly run, excellent staff and I couldn't fault it.
