Thanks
The firewall in OS X is very good, has many standard and hidden settings, all available in System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall
To learn about the advanced settings see here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh1242.html
The "best" free anti-virus (though most of us would argue on a Mac you don't need one, topic debated many times before - search the forum to save the same discussion again), is ClamXav
Back to your original post, one of the best and comprehensive lists of free Mac software is at The Free Mac here: http://web.mac.com/simon_elliott/simon_elliott%40mac.com/Software.html

Have long been using the freeware version of PTHPasteboard, which provides multiple clipboards. It's brilliant and it's something that I deploy many times a day.
But it's now informed me that it won't work with Snow Leopard and that, for Mac OS 10.6, I need to upgrade to the "Pro" version. (It still works free with Mac OS 10.5.x.)
Now, I don't begrudge PTH the sum of $25 for something that has been so handy, for so long. But I don't need and don't want all the other fancy things that the "Pro" version does - I just want multiple clipboards!
Does anyone know of another free, or inexpensive, Mac utility that simply provides multiple clipboards and works reliably with Snow Leopard?
I'd be extremely grateful if somebody could point me towards a good one.
Thanks.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

I just drag text onto the desktop, and it makes a clipping of it. I can then drag the clipping wherever I want, and where I drop it, it will be pasted.0 -

Quicksilver is a really neat application launcher.
OpenOffice, which is now superior to NeoOffice (although the latter deserves some credit for their earlier Mac port)
VirtualBox, allows you to run a virtual copy of XP, Vista, Linux etc.
OnyX, a system cleanup tool.
Omni Disk Sweeper and Grand Perspective, a pair of good apps for identifying disk space hogs.
Tweetdeck, neat tool for Twitter and Facebook status updates.0 -

Delivery Status is a very useful little widget.0
