Wheel Alignment
I noticed at the weekend that the front tyres on my car are a little bald on the inside, apparently the causes is the wheel alignment and negative camber.
Can anyone recommend a company in Edinburgh that can do this? I don't want to go to Kwik Fit et al, preferably someone who cares.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but I hope you have better luck than I have had with wheel alignment this week. Monday - new front tyres, wheel alignment. Wednesday - son hit kerb result: 1 more new tyre, plus bent tie rods, plus another wheel alignment!0

How much was the alignment?
I am hoping I won't need to replace the tyres, they have only done 20k and the inside isn't that bad - certainly not down to canvas or anything!0 -
Best thing I can suggest is ask around. Find out where your friends and family go to get their tyres done. Word of mouth is best way to find a garage as independents without the clout of the big players rely on giving good service at a good price to keep people coming back.
You may or may not need to replace the tyres it depends on how bad they are. If they are only slightly feathered it may be possible to either turn them on the rim (assuming they arnt directional) or move to the rear of the vehicle. Problem is once they get to a certain point they are beyond saving as even with corrected alignment they will wear in the same manner.
Although having said all that I have a hunch you may need new tyres anyway. Twenty thousand miles for drive wheel tyres on a front wheel drive car is a fair whack and they are likely low on tread anyway.
Basically ask around if anybody recommends a local tyre/exhaust place then go to them and they will gladly sort you out making sure you are happy with price and service all along the way.0 -
Thanks for the tip, I did ask around today but the one that was recommended is the other side of Edinburgh.
Heres an exciting photo of the tyre! As you can see it isn't too badMaybe I am being optomistic!
