Looking for a good all purpose drill £50-£100?

Hi

I plan on doing a bit of DIY at home shortly and as the title says, I am looking for a good all purpose drill for between £50-£100.

Believe it or not but I have never owned a cordless or corded drill, I always borrowed one from friends and family. But I think its about time I bought my own.

Any recommendations or links which people can suugest will be greatly appreciated.

If you can, get a corded drill.

I've lost count how many times I've cursed my cordless Black and Decker.

You need to keep checking screwfix and watch for special offers-

    This is a real bargain-

    real bargain

And so is this, but it is now only available in 110v-

    bargain drill kit

I read somewhere on the screwfix site that these will be coming back in 240v but I do not know when.

Also if you sign up for the screwfix news letter they often email out 10% off vouchers!

Buy Makita, bosch or dewalt. Ryobi are a good brand also and tend to be cheaper than the others, personally i wouldnt buy a black or decker or a cheap brand. I wouldnt get anything less than 18v and are just as good as the corded plus you have more portability. Newer drills now have lithium batteries which last longer, if u can find one with a fast charger and comes with two batteries it will come in handy. Get one with hammer action as its so much easier to drill masonery that is of course you have a decent set of drill bits.
Try www.toolbank.co.uk or www.screwfix.co.uk and ebay always has some good deals.
I think its just a case of shopping around.

    This might be worth considering
