I know it is difficult to say and depends on the exact model but can anyone give an indication on how much this would cost?

It 1p an hour a reasonable estimate???

That really is a 'how long is a piece of string' question!

Obviously the type of PC and monitor will be important.

Secondly it depends on the power saving setting - it should go a reduced power consumption setting after xx mins.

A laptop will cost around one third of a penny an hour(0.3p) when in use.

Not many home desktop PCs will use more than 1.5p to 2p an hour when in use.
