Greenstar 30Si Combination boiler

I have just moved to my new house recently. The 3 yrs guarantee for the above combi has just expired in June and the boiler has decided to play up. The dial on the boiler is showing zero and there is no hot water and have to have cold shower. I just would like some advice please, is it better for me to call a plumber as I have noticed there was a leak on the radiator's pipe on both sides, they are covered with green stuffs, the previous owners had their settee against it and this was not picked during the survey as surveyor did not pull out settee to check behind it. It does look as if the owners were not aware of these leaks. Should I get the boiler service and will it rectify the "zero on the dial and no hot water or shall I get a plumber to actually sort out the problem and investigate the leaks from the radiator. They seem ok now but it must be that the central heating has now been turned off. I would appreciate some advice. Thanks
