PS3 broken :(

Hi, Does anyone know how to fix a PS3 which isn't reading any discs?

    Yes - Sony do - send it to them if it's still in warranty and if it's not have an argument and see what they'll do. Maybe tell them you'll buy an X360 instead...

    hmmm.....interesting point..argue the sale of goods act at them, "reasonable quality" should be more than a year or two for consumer electronics....

    Worth a go, it seems to be a bit hit and miss if they repair it out of warranty.

    Have a read of THIS THREAD, there are many reports of this rectifying this fault.

    Failing that, a new Laser if you know someone handy with these things, but you need to know the model of the laser already fitted before purchasing a replacement (circa £60 for the part plus fitting)

    ATM Sony will charge you £145 if out of warranty for a refurb although with Watchdog investigating this it might change in the near future.....
