  • Thanks Rach, that's put my mind at rest a bit. I wasn't overly concerned but DH was. I need to drink more orange juice to loosen things up a bit!LOL!

rose - the walking should help too. If you can manage a 15-30 minute walk after your breakfast/ another meal!

plenty of water, lots of veg and I swear by milled flaxseed on my breakfast. Since being on GI my IBS has been loads better than usual.

I'm with Rach - fresh red blood is not too much of a worry. If however you have itching in that area it might be the old Chalfonts -

Rose, it's likely to be a touch of piles. If it's bright red, as Rach says, it's less worry worthy. We all get piles from time to time...

Can I just say I love the fact we can discuss our bottoms on here!

  • I don't think it is piles. It just felt like I cut myself while straining (sorry TMI!) and it was red. I was just worried that if I'd cut myself that it might get infected. I'm not itchy or anything.

I do eat lots of wholegrains and stuff, and I've been doing tons of walking recently - nothing seems to help. OJ was recommended by the GP, but that makes my acid reflux worse! I have a lot of tummy probs due to my meds, this is just another one of them I think! Oh well, nothing compared to LL or Toots or GnB's LO or lots of others.

Thanks for your thoughts and sympathy

Me too, altho I'm a bit embarrassed as it's my bottom we are talking about! :o :rotfl:

I have no dignity left! The other night I had a dream in which I threw up, wet myself and had diarrhea all at once! I was very relieved to wake up and find it wasn't true!

I bet you were - the worst thing is dreaming you're having a wee and then waking up to find the bed is wet :o

ETA - and realising you're really quite old...

  • Probably too late for anyone to read this, but so pleased I am not the only one to have had similar problems, bottoms or otherwise. You ladies have opened my eyes!

    Goodnight all
