Office Of Fair Trading To Investigate Price Comparism Sites.
"The Office of Fair Trading is set to investigate allegations of dubious advertising and confusing prices at comparison websites.
The OFT is seeking comments from the industry and consumer groups before the deadline of 18 September, when it plans to embark on a detailed examination of practices that can trick people into believing that such sites offer the cheapest prices.
If found guilty, the sites could be forced to change the way they operate and switch to a less profitable, more consumer-friendly system."

Can only be good.
There are a few companies whose advertising on the TV really revolves around, 'we don't allow ourselves on comparison sites'.
My question then is always Why Not???It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -

You cannot switch to to some gas and electricity companies via a comparison website; which presumably means they don't pay the comparison websites commission.0 -

Not before time and shortly after they should investigate the energy companies.0 -
Personally, I hold the OFT's independence and commitment to protect the punter in far greater esteem than I hold Ofgem's. This just may get interesting...Call me Carmine....
