Collection item paid for by paypal

Hi,
I have just sold an item wich is collection only but the buyer has paid by paypal. I understand that this could be risky as I will have no tracking information to say that this has been delivered.
Is there anything I can do now?
I have a receipt book that acrbon copies everything, would paypal accept this as proof of receiving the item?

I would personally refund the paypal transaction and ask for cash on collection
If the buyer was to claim 'item not recieved' paypal would no doubt side with the buyer and you will lose out even with a signed piece of paper  0 -

Because its a classic scam. The buyer pays through paypal and collects the item from the seller. The buyer then waits the period of time required before opening an 'item not recieved' dispute. Because the seller has no proof (royal mail tracking number) paypal will side with the buyer and issue a refund on the seller behalf. The buyer now has the item and his/her money back and the seller has been scammed.
There is a clause that you have to accept paypal for any/every transaction on ebay but generally buyers are fine with bringing the cash with them. I have been trading for over 5 years now and my buyers havn't had a problem with bringing cash.0 -

You might find this thread for new sellers useful.
The problem here though is that buyers are perfectly entitled to use paypal yet sellers would be open to problems if they do. It is a Catch 22 and there is no way round it, so many people now prefer not to sell high end items that cannot be posted on ebay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
