I have a d-link wireless modem, and at the moment I am using WPA PSK and SSID broadcast off.
however, I want to use it with my PSP which is on firmware version 1.5 (because I can use homebrew) and I dont want to upgrade, however, it doesnt support WPA, only WEP.
So would SSID broadcast off, WEP and MAC address filtering be safe?
Thanks
Laurie

As you probably know, WEP is less secure than WPA PSK, but with MAC Address filtering in use and SSID off, it should be fine.
It will be alot more secure than many wireless users who don't use any security and will deter all but the most determined hackers.0 -
ok, what i could do then, is switch to wep when i want to use my psp, then switch it back to wpa psk when i dont.
