controlling temp of radiators

If you have Thermostatic valves on the radiators turn them down to a lower number.
If not turn the boiler thermostat down a bit or turn off any radiators you do not need on.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
prob a silly question but where will the boiler thermostat be located = we have a back boiler?? thanks again0

Underneath the fire where you light the pilot light.
It is usually a brown colored wheel with numbers on it. The number nearest the spot that is marked on the casing alongside. The higher the number the hotter the water.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I assume BG mean you to fit Thermostatic valves on each radiator; however these do not control the temperature of the water in the radiators.
They act like any thermostat in that they switch on and off the supply of water to their radiator. The setting on the valve corresponds to an air temperature and it 'senses' the room temperature. When the air temperature reaches the set temperature it shuts of the supply of water to the radiator. As the room cools down so the valve opens and allows hot water back into the radiator.
Most boilers have a water temperature setting, I suspect your back boiler does not.0 -
I understood the objective was to lower the gas consumption.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
