Pop down Tesco or a supermarket with an instore bakery, If you ask for some yeast, they will give you a couple of ounzes for free, infact, the supermarkets are not allowed to charge you for FRESH yeast, this is because a very old law, cant remember what exactly, but something to do with Henry the eighth, lol.
I used to give out loads each week to home bread makers!:DTescos latest enemy.........0 -

Bread making machines are designed to work with fast acting dried yeast.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
can sumbody help me with my problem with the same model.
all the loaves bake ok but they're hard round the edges-sides/bottom.crust on top not a major problem.also can being a hard water area influence the outcome?0 -
Added dried milk powder or use some milk instead of some of the water should give you a softer crust. ( Trial and error )I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

rang panasonic and the woman suggested i use a tsp of sugar instead of 1/12 tbsp.adding milk can be a solution but the bread is more cakey.she also went on2 say i cud use oil instead of butter.it hasn't bin proven that hard water affects things she said.0
