Child maintenance stayed the same to the penny forever,,,,,

Hi all,
Just a bit of a moan really....My husbands ex left him with the kids around 8 years ago...he only asked for maintenance from her around 4 years ago and ever since then she has been in the same job. Basically every time the csa calculate what she has to pay it is the same to the penny! She claims she has never had a payrise, is on a low income so pays the low rate of csa and at the same time claims that she works full time and 3 weekends a month plus every christmas etc....basically hardly ever has our daughter.
Has anyone been through something similar at all????

it not your daughter is it and if thats what the csa decided it wahat they decide im not sure it has much to do with you anyway if your husbands happy with the money he gets then its set i dont see why youre moaning unless you want the money for yourselfReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. jamespir that is totally uncalled for - be niceSEPT 2008 - The CSA is responsible for collecting money in 553,800 out of 1,247,100 cases. In 442,000 of these cases the Resident Parent is on Benefits and so apart from £10 each, the money paid by each Non-Resident Parent goes to the Government and not the Resident Parent. The CSA collected £68.6m. Is the Govt. erasing child proverty? You decide!0

Correct me if I'm wrong.....
I THINK that unless she informs them of a change of circumstances (not very likely!) then the assessment will stay the same. You would have to actually request a new calculation from the CSA based on the fact you don't think the NRP's income is accurate and up to date. I don't think the CSA request up to date info from the NRP as the onus is on the nrp to do it but it seems it goes on forever unchecked. Also, if the income does change, the assessment will not change unless there is an increase of more than 5% (I think) . So my advice would be to call the CSA and ask for a new income enquiry to be done. HTH!
Oh....and my step children are my children, jamespir. Daughters, sons, brothers, sisters, CHILDREN. I also think they would be very upset if I felt they were "nothing to do with me". How rude.0 -

emmafifema sounds as if your husband is on the old scheme. You need to ask for a full re-assessment including full verification of NRP's income, housing and pension costs; as it seems very odd that nothing has changedSEPT 2008 - The CSA is responsible for collecting money in 553,800 out of 1,247,100 cases. Thanks for the reply James, but actually my husband isnt happy with what she is paying at all.....and for your information, I actually (unlike a lot of step parents) treat her as if she were my own, I love her just as much as I love my biological child.
Also, it has a hell of a lot to do with me as my husband works away a lot of the time and I have parental rights through legal documentation for "our daughter".
She is in my care majority of the time...anyway, what is your issue?? Just because I love all the children the same??? you are way off the mark.0 -
thanks everyone else for you replies....very helpfull, I will get on the case with the csa Lallychop....I just find it so hard to beleive that someone who works all the hours god sends week in week out....only has one weekend off a month and never has christmas off wouldnt get a payrise of any kind.........I mean she sounds like the employee of the month - every month! oh, and I dont know if this matters but she is also living with and engaged to the assistant manager at her place of work too.0

Oh maybe I should mention (so as not to get you too excited) I've been trying to get an up - to - date calculation for two years now....... :-(0

yes It took ages when my husband put in for maintenance initially...oh well, needs must. I shall give it a go0

It's just as possible that she doesn't work all these extra hours and it might be an excuse not to increase contact.
When your husband first went to the CSA, was his ex living with someone? If not, I thought they take NRP's partner's earnings into account when working out child support on CSA1, so it would have changed?August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61
NSD : 2/80
