incredibly slow page load times

so the site is VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRYYYY slow to load and has been since thursday evening for me, i can't get to the homepage, it' won't load at all

i've emptied my cookies/histories etc but no change,

am using other tabs in the same web browser (ie8 i think) and they are all fast and load as i'd expect.

any ideas tech mods?

its probably not that much help but just to say speed is fine with me... using Safari... :beer:

ok tried safari made no difference still ultra slow, nothing large is downloading, other pages work fine just not MSE

but sometimes it's just your internet connection

well if it was my net i'd expect other websites to be effected too but it's just MSE! and i know of friends who can't get onto the homepage, it times out when they try and load it
