There isnt a code.
What you have to do is go onto the site saynoto0870 and get an alternative
generic number. (01 or 02)
Even if you have to pay for this one and dont have free callson your phone it will still be a lot cheaper.
Does this happen to be Sky your ringing, if you are a skytalk customer calls to 0844 are free.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
The cheapest provider for 0844 calls is BT (8p call set-up fee and between ½p and 5p per minute depending on the 5th, 6th and 7th digits) so, as you're clearly not a Sky Talk customer, I'd suggest you dial a 1280 prefix if you still pay line rental to BT.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I am just curious as to how you know that the OP 'is clearly not a Sky Customer'
So what does 1280 do, does it make it a normal 01 or 02 call or a free callmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

op states is with primus so cant be with sky talk line rental as sky dont allow cps/ws calls only BT.
0844 calls are not free with sky just the 0844 calls to sky themselves are free.0 -
oh an the 1280 is an overide code for BT line rental customers to bypass cps and route calls back through BT0

I did not say anything about the OP being or not being a Sky customer, I said, "... as you're clearly not a Sky Talk customer..." I based that on the last 3 words of the opening post.I am just curious as to how you know that the OP 'is clearly not a Sky Customer'

If ecclesto still pays line rental to BT, using a 1280 prefix will override default routing to Primus and send the call via BT (the cheapest way to route an 0844 call).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
