Windows movie maker problem

I have made a practise slide show to music with this prog. I have no experience doing this before.Copied it to c.d.using the prog.and it will play on comp. I can't get it to play on the family dvd.player.Is it impossible to do this using this programme.Thanks for any help ( just learning)

    You need to go back a step. To play on a DVD player you will need to burn a DVD-Video format disk.

    In Windows Move Maker, take your finished article and then do 'Save Movie As...' in File and save it as the highest quality WMV file that you can (if you haven't already). Then you will need to use a programme like Nero (or whatever came with your DVD writer) to burn a 'New DVD-Video disk' - just drag and drop the WMV file into the video list that should come up, and complete the process.

    Thanks xycom1 I am hopelessly wrong, I have'nt got a dvd burner only cd.The programme gave me the impression you could burn it to cd then play on dvd.Can you only play music cd's on dvd player.

    You can choice to burn it as VCD movie from nero/cd writer software as well. This will write onto a normal CDR , in a movie format that should be compatible with most DVD players the cheaper ones are better at reading them for some reason.
