New washing machine - can I plumb it in myself?

Is there any reason why I have to pay a plumber to install a new washing machine? As far as I can tell you just plug it in, attach the hoses to the correct pipe (I did this successfully with the old one) and, er, bung the output thing into the output pipe thing....? Seems like a very simple job to me.
Secondly, I'm thinking of getting a Bosch WFC2467 from appliance-direct.co.uk, has anyone had any problems with these suppliers???
BTW - if anyone is looking for a compact washing machine to fit in a smaller space, this washing machine is much less deep than the standard size.
Thanks for comments,
Laura

There is absolutely no reason why you can't plumb it in yourself.
If you want to make it really easy, B and Q and the like sell kits to plumb in washing machines with self cutting taps similar to this one.

and i cant fault Bosch appliances, we have several and they have been great. Our Bosch vacuum cleaner did blow up recently after 16 months use and they repalaced it with a brand new one in 2 days flat (2 yr gtee). Cant fault their service either.0 -

Plumbing in a washing machine is really easy...
Connect blue to blue, red to red anfd waste to waste.
Put it this way it is so easy that I do the plumbing, hubby watches!!!
Good luckProud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -

Bosch washing machines are a good solid machine.
However not the one that i would choose.
personaly I like Hotpoint. ...whilst they may be cheap and not as reliable, when they do break it cost about £15 to fix and off you go again. a bosch will set you back a lot more but will take longer to break
this is assuming you dont get the first on a monday or last on a friday machine.. but that applies to them all0 -
If your old washing m/c was plumbed in and the hot and cold flexible pipes are still there or the copper pipes with the correct red and blue fittings are there....and the waste pipe is there then it's all going to be easy, no plumber required.0
