Sky Gnome alternative-audio transmitter?

A friend needs to be able to listen to the radio via his Sky box, but in other rooms in his house which do not have a television (and also outside too). A Sky Gnome would be ideal, except they've discontinued them now and though there's a few on ebay, he'd prefer something new with a guarantee.
Do any alternatives exist? I read a post here about cordless headphones which could be one option, though he was hoping he'd be able to switch the TV off and just keep the Sky box on.
Any plug in transmitters that could be picked up on a traditional radio maybe?
Thanks in advance.
