If a property's empty I don't think it does attract CT. Having a property occupied would discourage vandals or squatters. Depends on how desperate you are to make a case0

Yes and they might not pay out on a claim if property had been empty longer than their stated time (sometimes 30 days), so that money would be lost.0 -

??? If insurance on an empty property is higher, the insurer would have to know it is empty in order to charge more, so they would be bound to pay out.Yes and they might not pay out on a claim if property had been empty longer than their stated time (sometimes 30 days), so that money would be lost.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. An unoccupied and unfurnished property is exempt from council tax for a maximum of 6 months , if its furnished then the rate charged is between 50% and 90% depending on the Local Authority.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
