internet on pc without modem?

hi, looking for info on this please.
can i get the internet on a pc with no modem? i am currently using a wireless network in the house which my main pc and a notebook use. is it possible to get this other pc online fairly cheaply?:confused:

    You can either wire it, or use a wireless adapter.

    can the wireless adapter be usb so that i can have internet access when i want and then remove it again when i am finished? it's for my daughters computer and i dont want her to have full internet access.

    Wireless adapters for a PC can be either USB (external, quickly removable), or PCI cards (internal, not quickly removable).
    But if you do that, isn't she just going to go and obtain her own USB adapter and connect 'on the sly'? Or, if the router is near to her PC, connect an ethernet cable up?
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
