The ladies in the craft class I go to buy a lot of their stuff in the pound shops. They say the quality is just as good as the expensive shops so it might be worth having a look there.
I bought dubble sided tape and coloured foam sheets there and they were great for the cards I made. It was well worth a vistit. (I know it is not free but it's cheap)0 -
lots of free card making ideas...no postage on any of these things
i order wallpaper samples their great for background and stong enough to make full cards, try www.farrow-ball.com for a5 sizes.
Fabric samples are also great for pictures and backgrounds try www.furniture123.co.uk (the kids fabric has building block, letters, bumble bee's etc,
lots of card suppliers whsmith etc offer 'sample' cards that have roses etc can easily be cut up and used, ribbons, bows and flowes etc from www.diyfavourboxes.co.uk - they're not just now but often do samples and you can re-order as many as you like to the same address.
tourist maps are another good one, they make a great topic or mount for cards and free from most tourist info's (online to)
paint sampler cards are great for mosaics and if you request from dulux just now you get £1 of paint vouchers to.
good luck!Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.

it's great fun but i'd say choose your thing and stick to it - ish. otherwise you end up with stuff all over your house and glue where it just shouldn't be! it you think everything from knitting to card making to pottery is considered craft it can get out of hand!Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.

Definately worth taking up a craft, not only does it stave off boredom but provides you with gifts and cards to send to loved ones, and an excuse for a cluttered house0
