Setting up a second ebay account?

Options
Hi,

I want to set up a second ebay account so that I can seperate my buying and selling (I have bulk bought some things and want to re-sell a couple of the bits that are duplicated).

I am not sure how to go about registering for a second account and was hoping someone could help with a couple of questions:
Do I need to use a different email address for each account or can I use the same one?
Can I use the same Paypal account for both ebay accounts?
Does it matter that things like address and phone number would be the same for both accounts?

Thanks
A rather thick Sproggi:rolleyes:

I had five accounts at one time.

1.) My current one for both buying/selling,

2.) one which got ruined because some idiot sent me cash, claims I stole it!
3.) Another I set up to get revenge on that person,

    4.) another I forgotten the p/w

5.) one more for some forgotten reason.

Most with same CC, used different email address, I think! Name and address all same on 4.

I don't use PAYPAL as its pointless. People can just pay via bank transfer. Same waiting time, no fees!

    Hope that helps

hi, not certain but I think you can register more than 1 at the same address but have to have a different bank a/c, not sure about the email address.

Not much help really is it?

All can do is try to register another a/c and see what messages, if any come up.

    Thanks for the info Soprano.

I personally prefer using Paypal to send and receive payments, but thats just my choice.

I was hoping to be able to use the same email address for both accounts to make things easier with Paypal, Is this possible?

I don't believe you can have the same email address for more than 1 account. I have several ebay accounts and they all have different email addresses and bank details.

Thanks Aliwatts, I think I will try as you suggest and attempt to register with all original details, just a new user name.

Try telling that to my buyer who bought something Friday night and needs it to be posted urgently on Tuesday. She doesn't use paypal as 'everyone told her it isn't safe' and we don't have the same bank for transfer. So she made her bank transfer on Friday night and it won't even show in my account until Friday, the 4th working day. She doesn't see it is a problem, yet can't understand why I won't post her things on Tuesday as she has told me she has paid.

    Hi

You need to have a different email address for each ebay account. Each of the email addresses can be added to your existing Paypal account.

For example, I have 3 ebay accounts each with its own email address but I have
only one Paypal account to deal with these.

I always use paypal for buying and selling. havent heard any bad reports about it? With bank transfer, dont you have to give a person your bank details, surely that is more dangerous ?

You do have to give them your bank account number and sort code. They would have this information if you sent a cheque too as it is on the cheque. Perfectly safe to do this.
