ford focus cambelt snapped
Hi all
I have a 2001 ford forcus 1.8 zetec and im pretty sure my cambelt snapped yeasterday but cant be sure had no warning just died. can you tell me if my car has got an interference or non interference engine and what im lookin at to get it fixed

its an interference engine. what make you think its snapped? have a look and see if it has definatly snapped.
to do the belt it costs around £150, to strip the head and replace the bent valves and replace all gaskets and do the belt it can cost around £400. these prices are at a local independant garage, i imagine ford would charge a bit more....work permit granted!0 -

its normally cheaper to replace the engine from a breakers yardSealed pot challenger # 10

the rough price i qouted is probably best case scenario,if there was damaged con rods or pistons or even block damage then a replacement engine could be the cheaper option.
the experience ive know of was best case scenario,just a few bent valves....work permit granted!0 -
