And like too many big (charitable?) organisations, it seems that money is the driving force behind it. Not the welfare of the animals.

Certainly makes for interesting and shocking reading.

I hate the RSPCA. Its true that they have forgotten why they are a charity and what their beliefs are. All they see is $$ signs in their eyes.

I must say Im really proud that the Scottish SPCA is nothing like that. They are excellent and will help animal in trouble or needing a new home.:D

The RSPCA got stick recently as they spent loads on marketing up here in Scotland looking for donations when it is an english/welsh charity and we have the Scottish SPCA. they were looking for Scottish people to donate but they wouldn't help a single animal in scotland??????

Their morals are so wrong and the people on facebook are right.

I really am disappointed in them now and wouldn't give them a penny

(I do donate to the sspca regularly though :))

They did the same in N.Ireland where we have our USPCA (That's Ulster, just in case you're wondering). There seems to be a fairly common misconception that the RSPCA is somehow the same organisation as the SSPCA and the USPCA and the RSPCA does absolutely nothing to clarify this matter. We open the regional editions of national newspapers and their leaflets drop out - they shouldn't be in there in the first place.

I also saw on the BBC website today this horrible tale of a lack of compassion for ten German Shepherd dogs whose owner died. I don't know the full story, but IMO the RSPCA took the easy way out, and didn't take enough responsibility for the dogs' welfare.
