UPVC windows, net curtain wires & rods.

I have white UPVC windows in my home and used to have net curtain rods and wires attached to them via stick on white hooks. Overtime they have dropped off and hubby had glued them back on with superglue etc.
I have over the last 6 months had vertical blinds fitted all over the house, I would now like to remove these hooks, I have tried and succeeded only in breaking off the hook section, leaving the base firmly attached to the window.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can remove these hooks as they now look unsightly. MTIA

Thanks ormus, DD has scalpels so will give it a go.
Any ideas on what would be the best way to remove the glue residue that will be left on the windows. Is there maybe something I could buy. MTIA.0 -
