any plumbers about? Vaillant boiler question.

hello, please can you help with a boiler problem. Our hot water comes on for a little while,then it runs cold, then hot again, then cold again etc.The pressure gauge is set at 1 bar but keeps increasing over a twelve hour period (rising to 2 0r above).The boiler is a Vaillant Turbomax Plus 824.

Hi I am not a plumber but I have a 9 yr old vaillant boiler combi and the common problem with this fault is the divertor valve. Its happened twice to me and the part is around £80. It has a rubber ball in it and it gets stuck. Your heating will always work but the shower or hot water will keep changing from hot to cold or not heat at all. Hope this helps?
Mine went wrong four months ago and I knew straightaway what it was, and it happened about five years ago too.

thanks for the reply,is it something you can do yourself? My hubby is pretty handy at diy but he is a welder/pipefitter by trade and not a plumber.
