RM failed to deliver, want to refund buyer....

.....but not enough in my paypal account, my bank account is linked though, so if i refund will it come from my bank account?

I know its not the buyers fault, as the item was handed over at the PO on the 24th, but tracking just shows it as being accepted by the PO, no info on it being delivered.
Thankyou Sir Alex for 26 years

Firstly assuming this is recorded and not special delivery then an item sent on the 24th is still a bit early to be worried. Can you possibly talk your buyer into waiting at least until after the bank holiday..I would normally expect buyers to wait at least until into the second week, and I think I am a fairly generous refunder.

Yes it was first class recorded, i will ask her to wait a little longer, although it was for tickets, and she was hoping to go tomorrow, although the ticket is valid till next year, what are the e-bay rules on non-delivery (should look myself, but just got up after night shift, so not fully awake yet), thanks.

The buyer can open a chargeback with paypal on day 7 after payment, so she can do that now if she wants. If recorded tracking fails to update to show delivery you would lose a chargeback and probably get a neg from buyer for forcing her to wait .

AS they are tickets I might go against my earlier advice and take the hit and refund. Most buyers I suspect will assume that seller uses special delivery for tickets and would have expected them sooner. She probably should have asked you, but look at the tone of her emails and decide whether or not to risk a neg on this or whether you can afford to take the loss.

You don't have any postal insurance though as tickets are not covered in the standard mail, only special covers tickets.

Unfortunately assuming she is England the earliest she cna possibly get them now is Tuesday due to the bank holiday.

You might have to play this one depending on how much youstand to lose and how understanding the buyer is being.

Thanks, you win some, you lose some, she has been ok about it, but obviously annoyed, although she knows its not my fault, will the refund come from my linked account if insufficient paypal funds, thanks.

No, in my experience you need to have sufficient funds in your PP to make a refund, it wouldn't allow me to 'top-up' the difference from my bank.
No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!:D

    Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target :(
