possibly overheating, turn off, unplug it and remove the casing (normally screws at the back or the side panel slides off). Blow out any dust from the insides of the unit , do not use a vacumn cleaner !! , and get a small paintbrush and make sure all the metal fins in the heat sink on the processor are clean.
while the case is open it may be worth unscrewing all the PCI cards and unplugging those , then plug back in , do the same with the Ram.
If it still keeps doing it keep the side off the case and run for a while to see if it happens still , then it may be the paste failing between the heat sink and the processorEx forum ambassador

They are not the hd streams on iplayer are they?
The flash hd player is very hard on the processor. Mine did this recently too so have to stick to the standard def version now.0
