i need a suit for a christening and possibly other future events like weddings etc
how much do i need to spend?
my mate was saying his mum got him one from primark for £25 but is this false economy? am i better off with one from say burton or debenhams and spending about £100?
also i am a 5 foot 6 male so quite short so is there a certian style of suit that would suit me ? also is it best to stick to a plain black one?

if you are planning on wearing the suit alot, but 2 pairs of the trousers the trousers will get scuffy more quickley than the jacket
i bought a really nice suit new for £40 on ebay in a plus size for hubbyNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
Black is very severe. A nice grey suit will work for every occasion. Just change the shirt and tie and it will look completely different! A gentle vertical stripe will make you look a bit taller
Majority of the males in my circle get them from M&S. Just make sure you get 2 or 3 pairs of the trousers.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -

Very true , but settle for a dark grey... no light grey for a funeral ?0 -
My OH doesn't hasn't owned a suit for years. We had a wedding a year or so ago and he got one from the Tenovus charity shop for £10 (our local one always washes/cleans the clothes so always exceptional). It's a mid-grey colour so suitable for all occasions, he wore a lilac shirt and co-odinating tie with it and it looked stunning.
Wallbash - are you saying not to wear light grey for a funeral? I personally don't think that it matters. My son wore black trousers, white shirt, black tie to his baby's funeral as he didn't have a suit nor a suitable jacket so he went shirt sleeves.0 -

I'm suggesting that a dark rather than a light grey is more useful.
The last funeral I went to, we were asked NOT to wear black.
But when in doubt ,0 -
i had a look around a few shops in town and noticed this one :

what do you think.. it said full suit for under £900 -
Even a suit at £90 is ridiculously cheap even if you wear it only for funerals and weddings, and yes, my vote goes for dark grey.
And theres noting wrong with going in shirt sleeves to a funeral.
Its silly to me buying suits for young children when they out grow them so fast.
They probably only get to wear them oncemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
