Hi
Bought a domain name on 123reg. I already have some web space hosted with someone else.
How do i link the 2 together? In other words where do i edit the details in 123reg that will point to the nameserver of my hosted webspace? I cant find anything in the control panel of 123reg
thanks in advance

You just login into 123-reg - select the domain (Modify Domain) and click on change nameservers.0

should i be transferring it first?0 -
The best thing would be to transfer the domain to your hosting company. Keeps life simpleBeer meter E[.\.......]F0

Once you login to the control panel you shold be at a page
https://www.123-reg.co.uk/secure/
and slap bang in the middle of that should be pulldown with a list of your domains registered with 123-reg. On the right of that is the Modify Domain button. If you can't see that, then somethings up and you'd need to contact them.
btw, my scribbled notes on what to do when you can see th button say...Click on "Modify Domain" button Click on "Manage DNS" link Scroll down to the section "A, CNAME and TXT records" Enter the (usecase- new) host's IP in the both rows of the "Content" column. Click on "Update DNS" button Wait 2 days for the changes to propogate around the Internet DNS servers0 -
Hi
Change of topic but still 123-reg .
The Spam filters on the 123-reg mail settings can be set between 1 and 10.
123 say 1 the strongest in the help pages but on the setting page they say 10 is the strongest .
I think after experimenting that 1 is the strongest - bounces a lot of emails and 9 is the weakest ( wont accept a setting of 10).
Anyone any other ideas ?0 -
I wouldn't recommend this.fuzzball172 wrote: »The best thing would be to transfer the domain to your hosting company. Keeps life simple
