Under financial hardship, yes but banks do not have to pay out even 1p under financial hardship
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

  • What about not claiming financial hardship?

I am not going to claim under this (i cant really) is it still worth me putting my letter in asking for x amount (the normal way)

Yes put your letter in :) It will just sit in the queue and you'll get a generic 'all cases on hold' letter back, but worth putting your complaint in to the bank.
