Vanquis Credit Card

Hi, folks.

Just applied for one of these to get the money through Vanquis.

The question is, is it normal for the decision to take '10-14 days ?'

My credit score is decent enough, but this is what it stated at the end of the application.

Thanks.

I applied late Tuesday night and got the same 10-14 day message. Then got a phone call at 8am Wednesday morning telling me I'd been accepted (and going through 15 mins of trying to sell me every insurance going!).

    Thanks, guys.

Sillyhat: Am doing it merely to get the money through Quidco. I will use it a couple of times and pay it off by the statement date to avoid the horrendous interest rate and to boost my credit score a little.

    :)
  • I applied got the same message, got a call 8 days later to say I had been approved and got my card 8 days after that. Apr is 34.08 which compared to the way mainstream is going is ok for sub prime .

Vanquis isn't that bad with their interest rates, in my opinion. I was given 34% when I had an account. I closed it as I now have CapitalOne with 30% interest, however Vanquis were still quite good.

I take it you can set up a direct debit to pay off the full amount each month with them, yeah...?

Got a call at 8:25 or so this morning to say that I was successful.

They did attempt to flog me 3 or 4 insurances. I politely declined their offer :rotfl:

Set up a direct debit to pay the full amount off each month, too. Will spend small amounts on it and pay it off in full to better my credit score a little and then do away with the thing in the new year at some point.

Cheers for the help, folks
