So now we are getting personal? - ~Nice flaming there!

    Making racist comments like:

'Maybe it was just your poor grammar that led me to believe you had recieved 5 credit cards from your bank, but as your not English I forgive you this once.'

    and

'even for a defensive South African immigrant.' - is pointless and does not contribute to the thread.

Also, looking at my first statement

--I m on a work permit been here 3 years and have had more than 5 cc's and a loan from my bank..

Do you know what they say about presumption?

If you read the sentence carefully you will see that it indeed does make sense...

In that sentence it suggests that I've had 5 cc's, and a loan from my bank - it does not suggest the the credit cards were all from my bank,

If that was so I might have said

Barclays has given me 5 cc's and a loan. or perhaps

I have had 5 cc's from Barclays as well as a loan. or maybe

    I've had 5 cc's and a loan - all from Barclays.

Are you seeing the difference here?

Maybe thats why they say english is quite hard to learn even if it IS your first language?

    - An unedumecated South African.

Now for a bit of clarification

I did infact get approved the day I arrived and received my card's and chequebook in the post a few days later.

They did however require employment details, address details and my passport.

I don't normally get involved in grammar arguments - they completely cloud a subject. But I had to point this one out as I love irony:

It should be you're not your :D

To save you making that mistake again..

    'I' before 'E' , except after 'C'

    Most of the time :)

How many times do you want forgiveness for your poor English and spelling?

Sucks for you when you criticise someone else's English which is their second language but yours is worse as a first!

  • I am an Iraqi living in Jordan with my wife and two boys. We came here fleeing the hell of the purported communal and indiscriminate war in Iraq. My question is can someone get a loan to purchase a house in Jordan, noting that I can pay the monthly installment required by a Bank. Any hints suggestion are welcome. Thanks. Sincerely

Hi Sarmad, I have moved your post here as it is a similar topic. This is the link to a post that was posted before about gaining loans in the UK.
