No it does not. The children need the child support now, not stuffed away in a savings account. It isn't up to the NRP to decide how the PWC spends child support.

That's not always true. Our PWC asked for the money to go into my H's daughter's savings account because she doesn't need the child support to help her pay for day to day things. The children do not always need the money spent on them right now. His daughter doesn't have lots of money spent on her but she's happy and loved and got a nice savings account growing for when she goes off to uni/buys a car/buys a house.

What Playinghardball is saying is that it is up to the PWC to decide whether they need the money now or not, not the NRP.

and what about the self employment aspect of the NRP, does this have any bearing on how much he pays?

Which is what I wrote. Our PWC chose how to spend the money. I just didn't agree with the part which said "children need the child support now, not stuffed in a savings account". Not all do.

I have spoken to the CSA today and they are putting us on payment direct. This means that the claim is on hold not stopped, so if he doesn't pay they can chase him immediately.

They can also still chase him on the arrears for his first daughter. I explained to the man that the house his name was on was my house that I had paid the deposit for and was paying the mortgage and he said they wouldn't go down the route of putting a charge on the house but if he didn't make an agreement to pay them they would send in the bailiffs instead and then they could send him to prison.

So, i'll just have to wait and see if I actually get any money.

The self employment could easily change the amount the NRP pays due to the fact that many NRPs can manipulate their net profits to show a very low income, which they cannot do whilst PAYE.

That is all you can do is wait and see if you get any money, what the man said on the phone you have to take carefully with a pinch of salt, if it was backed up in writing then that would be different. Be mindful that there are 1000s of cases like yours all requiring immediate attention. Although you may read of perciverance and success stories here, I fear there are more failed claims than the success ones, as the easier clients make the targets easier to achieve.
