Ok so I realise that this is my fault and there is probably little that I can do, but I thought I would post the problem just in case there is a chance at a refund.
Me and my partner have a joint JSA claim which get paid into my bank account. I have gone to visit family for a few days so wanted to transfer some of the benefit payment into my boyfriends account. So I logged into my online banking (I'm with co-op) and clicked the payee from the list and sent £70 over. Literally just after I had done it I realised that I had clicked my brothers account instead of my boyfriends account as they are next to each other, the money was now on its way to my brothers account.
I phoned the co-op straight away but because electronic transfers from co-op to natwest are almost instant, the money had left their system and there was nothing that they could do.
I got my brother to phone natwest, as he had been given charges by the bank of £38.00 so natwest had kindly eaten £38.00 of my money. He explained the situation to them and there was no joy so I asked to speak to a manager and the manager was unwilling to refund the £38 even when I explained that this was my benefit money and it was for my other half, even trying to lay on thick how skint we are but no joy. Can anything be done to get my money back soon or do I have to wait until this infernal court case has come to a conclusion?

Stop anticipating a negative response and do not apologise for posting up your issue because if you don't ask, then how can we all help you, ok?

Unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done prior to the OFT test case issues which are almost at the half way stage.
He will have to claim the charges back and if you have got charges, then so will you.0
