Hi,
I am using Abiword, I think I have done something without intending to, each time I go into a document to amend a word or add a word it deletes spaces and goes into the next word to delete that,not sure how to get it back to how it was.
I.E I need to be able to click inbetween two words and add a word with losing spaces etc.
Thanks

Hi
In the bottom right-hand corner of the document is a box which says either INS or OVR.
INS = Insert
OVR = Over-write
I think that you have set yours to OVR by mistake, it should be INS.
To toggle between these two settings press the 'insert' key on your keyboard, it's probably on right-hand side of keyboard next to the 'home' key.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -

I hate when this happens, can anyone tell me why this is on a keyboard and when it actually comes in handy?0

There must be many, many people (including me) that have been caught out by this.
I ~think~ it was included for people who had previously used a typewriter for years, because it sort of mimics the way correction works on something like an old IBM golfball typewriter.
Now that there are very few people with a typewriter background it's something of an anachronism.0
