Hi Everyone its been a few days since i have posted and I wanted to thank you all for your help. I got in touch with these kind people at cccs who are amazing I talked a wonderful gentleman and he helped me no end. Today I got my pack from them I have been advised in my sitautian as it is so bad to have something called a DRO which will cost me £90. I have got a new bank account as I was told to but still waiting to receive the paperwork. I was told that once i get my DRO it will be a year an dim clear of debt. Though i have been told to put in a hardship claim to the bank to get the charges back this letter im also waiting for, someone told me you can ring them but im not sure if thats a good idea.
I saw the Dr as i was having counsilling but my nhs treatment has had to stop as used my allocated amount. So now i have to wait,
Im still worried sick about tomorrow as B******* Bank will draw £140 pound out of me on top of bills i dont even want to think about it. It is such a mess .
It sometimes feels to much for me to do and i just feeling like im starting to drown even with help.0 -

Manicboy, are you not happy with ringing the bank as you might get tongue tied? Do you have a friend or family member you can confide in, and do your security check and see if they would speak to someone on your behalf? Or you could write down things to say? Sorry, not much help but just think you have come so far already! You can do this - there is plenty of support here. Also some great advice about doctors etc. xxxA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

why is it that people on here expect new people to understand what a soa is or a cccs or a dro or a bro or a cba.... or a pad thead
.come on some of your language is in too much code.It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Hi Manicboy
Can't really offer much help but just wanted to say well done for taking the first step and contacting CCCS. You've done the first hardest thing and take little steps at a time.
Good luck and please keep posting.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Manicboy, i would just keep everything in writing with the banks - make sure there is a papertrail and proof of what has been agreed. When making the hardship claim, make sure you send the letter to the hardship department - some banks seem to 'lose' letters if it's not sent to the correct department in the first instance.
Well done on getting the ball rolling. I know that can be a big step to take.
I've not read much on DRO's, but if you search the site here you should find some answers to your questions.
If you need money for the rest of the month and still have some of your overdraft left, it might be worth withdrawing some money to make sure you have enough until payday. Just make sure you're covered and the rest you can deal with when it comes up. The banks should let up a little once they find out you are taking advice from CCCS so hopefully you won't be worrying for much longer. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

If things cant get worse they say oh yes the can. Here is my story of this afternoon. I followed the advice and rang B*******s bank. And spoke to a nice indian man who sounded as he was in Mumbai or one of these damn call centres.
he said he would help me and a man would ring in five days from a claims dept then his computer crashed and he said could i rang back later.
I did and talked to an Indian woman who did not care one bit she went on about how there is no hardship claim your not allowed to do that, even after i said i had advice she said no you cannot claim anything its my fault it seems. And then she began to get angry and rude.
I said can i speak to someone else she said no, i said i want to speak to someone else and she said well your not going to.
So i said i have been talking with the finacial experts and they have told me that I need to put a hardship claim in she said we do not allow that and basically would i go away i said no i want to speak to your manager she told me i could not speak to anyone so i said ok well you will get a letter from the lawyers about this and your attitude towards me. to which she then put me of to the collection agency people at B******** and the woman said i ahve to put a complaint in about bank charges but said nothing to do with us you have to go to your branch then I said i have never been talked to so rudely by one of your collegues and palmed off when im all but sucidal right now she said nothing we can do put a letter into the bank. I felt about as welcome as a fart in a spacemans suit
I can not get over how rude B******* bank are to they customers and how much they do not care about us. I have been a very good customer until i fell apart and with it my world Im drowning and im about at my end of my rope0 -

Can I ask if you are under a CMHT? Are you being seen by a CPN or other mental health professional? I would discuss this issue with your key person as soon as possible. When I was working in this field, it was common for the team to try and pursue any debts which were the cause of a mental health illness. Most of the time we had the debts written off because of the circumstances.
Good luck!0 -
Hi
Please stop speaking with these people on the phone - they will only bully and threaten and that is not helping you. If you don't have it, then they can't have it so please don't call them again.
Keep everything in writing - National Debtline website and CAB website have some good template letters you can use to send to them. Even if you send them token payments for a while - £1.00, £5.00, £10.00 however much you can afford, that is showing willing that you are wanting to clear you debts but in difficulty at the moment and if it goes to court, hopefully the court will favour you as you are paying all you can afford.
If it goes to a debt collection agency that is not necessarily a bad thing as they tend to accept lower payments as they buy the debts for peanuts and tend to freeze interest so it's not as scary as it may sound.

Thanks cobbingstones - worth following up that advice.
In the meantime, let the phone ring and don't speak with them.
