HELP NEEDED: what does MBNA Credit card travel insurance cover?

Hi everyone, I have a bit of a dilemma that I'm really hoping someone can help me with.

I have a credit card with MBNA, and purchased two flights to Australia costing approximately £1300 back in December last year. They are flights for myself and a close friend.

Unfortunately, my friend has come down with an illness which will mean she can't fly for the next month or so (she has a doctors certificate to prove this) and we're due to fly out in 2 weeks. The flights were purchased are non-changable flights so the only thing I can think of is to cancel the trip.

I know that MBNA provides "travel accident insurance" but i'm not entirely sure what this means and I want to get peoples opinion's on it before I call them.

Can I get a refund from MBNA? I don't have any other travel insurance but i've heard theirs is only limited.

Any help would be much appreciated... :j

thanks for your help.
