Edf have been sending me bills for two monthly periods instead of the traditional three. Anyone not knowing this could become confused and it makes the bill seem more reasonable. It could also look good for Edf on comparison sites if the actual bill figures are entered in the mistaken belief that it covers a three month "quarterly" period rather than two.

Hi John,
How many periods has this happened for? I might be able to help0 -
Just checked our our last 12 months bill & EDF change from 2 to 3 months billing when they feel like it . It definately makes checking & comparing bills a nightmare, Any ideas why they do this ?0
-
EDF Energy often change billing cycles to try and fall in line with meter reader visits to enable more accurate bills.0
-
Not the only ones to do this - EON have just told me that they are "delaying" my expected April bill to align with Meter reader in mid May- will make my next bill period nearly 4.5 months!!0

I'm with EDF and provide my own readings under the read, reduce, reward scheme whenever they e-mail me. They will then generate a bill on the day the read is provided however these are generally approx 3 months apart still0

You can always phone up with a meter reading if you want to avoid a larger-than-a-quarter bill (and you pay quarterly), shouldn't make much difference if you pay via Direct Debit.0

yes, like davethorp states we have the read & reward scheme and the read, reduce & reward scheme.
Basically we will send you an email or letter when we are due to produce a bill asking for a meter reading. This keeps your bills accurate, direct debits in line with your consumption and avoids any massive catch up bills. (You also get Nectar points for doing this)0
