Cleaning Charges Question...

Options
Hi all,

We live in SFA and are due a posting but wondering how much is the maximum that DE can charge you in "incidental" charges such as cleaning etc as tryin to weigh up the pros and cons of doing all the cleaning myself.

Hope someone knows...

Well, I don't know the maximum, but for eg, if there was the tiniest bit of grease, etc on your cooker that alone is a £60 charge. Worst part about it, they charge you for these things, then half the time the item that's been charged for never gets cleaned/put right anyway!!!

I think you will find it is cheaper to get someone in or do it yourself. The Hive usully has a list of private companies or people on the patch that do it. Get a written quote first and make sure they itemise what is included and if it includes remedial for free if there are any charges.

They might turn round and refuse to take the SFA back if it is that bad !!
  • I am not being funny but you get a shed load of free money in the form of disturbance allowance, so why not utilise this to get the job done properly? I paid £200 to have my quarter cleaned (my last quarter ever after buying whoop whoop) and it was worth it for piece of mind! Stop being tight and pay someone lol.
  • Also, if you get a cleaning company in, try and get one that guarantees the march out and is present for when you do hand over.

I think that by just leaving the MQ as is you're risking being charged for absolutely everything and might end up more expensive.
Were you seriously considering just walking out and leaving it as is??? eeek!!!

  • Monkeychild - I have had a price from our local cleaning firm and it is £485 not including the cooker so I would rather pay the DE guys to do it.
I wouldn't just walk out and leave everything but we are moving abroad and can't be doing with the hanging about to get things cleaned/grass cut etc etc.

    Thanks anyway.
