I have a sharp as well with turntable a d shelves. It also has some pre-programmed buttons for cooking a couple of meats and for defrosting them. It also has pre-programmed buttons for cooking things like ready meals, frozen and chilled a d baked potatoes.
My oven broke down two years ago and I haven't got round to replacing it, just use it for storage for my tins. I also have a SC which I use a lot.

I got my combi only recently so I'm slowly learning how to make the most of it. It's certainly brilliant for jackets - very quick and easy, and, for me, it's a lot easier to take things out of the combi than it is to kneel down on the floor to take things out of my bottom oven.
My next experiment (learning experience) is going to be trying out a pizza on my pizza stone.

I LOVE MINE!!!
I've had one for 12 years!! It cooks the most perfect Roast Chicken in half the time, and saves a forune on gas!
I can't say I am fond of the grilling, so I don't use it. But I used it to make jacket potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings and pretty much anything.
Best thing is... I set it at 220 for 30 minutes and it tells me when it's done! So no forgetting about it! And if you do forget... it starts cooling itself down so it only gets a little overdone. It's greatWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. Like Squeaky, I'm still learning how to fly my new combination microwave/grille/oven. Hitachi MC300. Half price at £129.99 from Comet. Stainless steel. Really robust. Almost industrial, and with a power output just short of the main phaser banks of a Galaxy class starship. OK, maybe not. 900 Watts. A very impressive piece of kit. I only just found out that it has 2 defrost functions, one for weight and one for time, so I think I still may have quite a way to go. As far as my ovens go, heating up the little 17 litre combination one has got to take less energy than heating up my 53 litre main oven. I still prefer the big oven's grille, though, simply due to size.
PS. If anyone knows who does big 28cm or even 30cm microwave AND heat proof glass dishes, this would be a really useful accessory for it. I've found such plates, but not that big.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Im on my third micro combi and I wouldnt go back to a ordinary micro, they do take a bit of getting used to but once you have worked it out they are invaluable and they must save money as they have more efficent elements than ordinary ovens plus its a smaller space to heat up.0

Recently aquired a Panasonic combi on offer at Argos for £133 to replace a 14 year old Whirlpool microwave that finally went bang. It seems totally fab, though has the OH baffled and wary! Jacket potatoes are perfect done on the jp button and veg too. Yet to use the actual oven bit but will soon. Any suggestions for bread making recipes in it?:hello:0

Thanks for all the replies.
I'm sorry to be really persistent but I really am fond of my cheese bakes and cheese on toast... this thing is supposed to be a 'combination microwave and grill', right? More than one person has shed doubt on its ability to actually fulfil that part of the deal, so I'm concerned...0 -
It will cope quite happily with cheesy pasta bakes
and cheese on toast. Well mine does.
